Bengali Sweet House

Our Origin story

We begin our story in 1997 in New Jersey, where there was a thriving bustling city in Iselin, NJ nicknamed “Little India.”  Here was the creation of a hub of Indian restaurants, jewelry, and clothing from all across the subcontinent of India.  Even with the 100 plus diverse Indian businesses, one very important thing was lacking.  There were a lot of Indian sweet shops, but none that had the taste that brought you back to India with each heavenly bite.

One year later, a pioneer, Ashok Jain, decided instead of searching for what he could not find he would make it.  And so began the birth of Bengali Sweet House a small 800 square foot location in the heart of Little India. Its patrons quickly grew and their accolades demanded more locations throughout the country.  In order to accommodate the thousands of requests for the highest quality Indian Sweets in their areas, the location in Little India was closed to open a centralized kitchen and to allow franchising across the Northeast.

People quickly started appreciating how Bengali Sweet House always starts with the richest and purest of ingredients before they craft each delectable into the masterpieces you enjoy today.  With our small batches and our freshest ingredients, its no wonder why our customers have dubbed us the best sweet maker in the United States.

If you are one of the lucky ones that have a store near you, you quickly understand the type of mouth-watering Indian sweets that Bengali Sweet House are known for.   If you are unfortunate not to have one near, don’t worry, we are able to ship you the same fresh gourmet sweets direct to your home or office.
